2. 67 colors. Not even joking. There are 67 colors available in varying solids, heathers, twists, tweeds, stripes, prints and metallics. I think I spent more time picking colors than I did designing. It was a challenge in itself!
3.This is a number 6 yarn weight, or Super Bulky yarn. Your project will be over before you know it! Which is PERFECT for the design I had in mind! Making a garment can sometimes be time-consuming, but this project was done so quickly! I was shocked at the rapid pace in which my thoughts became a reality.
Lots of wools can be itchy, but thanks to the acrylic content in this yarn, it is very wearable! I have a hat that I made a few years ago using Thick and Quick and it has really kept its shape and looks almost like new despite the constant wear. I do still caution that you should do a test run if you have sensitive skin.
So! Would you like to see my design!?!?! I'm so excited to share this one with you!!! I have been asked for a year and a half to add sizes to the Marek Vest. The Child size pattern was released for Design Wars in August 2014 and it has taken me this long to finally add to the collection :)
Here is the Marek Vest in Women's sizes! One of the reasons why I had put off designing this for so long, was because the size of the project was daunting. Thanks to the Thick and Quick yarn, this project worked up so quickly! The first sample uses 4 different colors. Grey Marble on the bottom, Moonlight on top and Navy and Cranberry stripes. The second sample used Charcoal as the main color with accents of Raspberry. This design is available in sizes XS-XL and features a roomy fit for layering and a nice, oversized hood! I included tutorials for the zipper installation, as well as how to do the linked treble crochet stitch. I would love to hear which colors would you make yours in!
Until next time!
