The Kate Slouch Hat
This hat was inspired by all the beautiful #1 weight yarn I have in my stash and haven’t gotten around to using yet! It’s currently a bitter cold January where I am, and I find myself starting at this Super Fine yarn, dreaming of warm breezes…
The yarn I chose is Loops and Threads Woolike, which is a brand of yarn exclusive to Michaels. This yarn is so nice to work with! If you haven't tried it yet, you really should! It's an acrylic/nylon blend which makes it super soft and easy to wear. At 678 yards/skein, you definiately get a lot of bang for your buck! One skein of beige gave me an Adult size slouch hat and enough left for the matching cowl (coming next week!). Here are a couple photos of the Kate Slouch from different angles. You can see how lovely the drape is!
Oh!! I had a giveaway for this pattern!!! Want to know who won?

Please excuse my awesome cell-phone selfie! I don't get to see my model until Saturday but I wanted to get the giveaway started now! You don't mind, do you?!
The Kate Hat is a lovely, drapey hat that reminds me of Spring! Right now, in Northern Ontario, we have been enjoying some pretty balmy weather. Ok, that was full of sarcasm. Last week was full of -20-something weather. However, I saw my #1 super fine weight yarn and started dreaming of warmer temps. That's where this design came from!
This pattern is set to release this weekend and requires 268 yards of #1 weight yarn (I used Loops and Threads Woolike) and an F hook. It is coming in sizes 0-3 months-Adult so you can make one for every girl in your family!
And did I mention I'm giving a couple copies away before it releases? Yep! I'm sure that's why you kept reading!
Here's what you need to do!
Go to the listing on Ravelry here, make sure you are logged in to your Ravelry account, add it to your "favorites", share it your favorite way and then come back here and comment with your Ravelry name! That's it. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!
I will give away 10 copies and the winners will be announced in a new post along with the announcement of the pattern release (and the real model's photos!)
Thanks again for stopping by and good luck!
