The Brooke Poncho crochet pattern is a cropped poncho design (also sometimes known as a ponchette). What I love about this style, is the versatility. You can easily throw this over a tank or tee for a little warmth over the shoulders, or pull it forward (off the shoulders) to wear it as a cowl!

ABOUT THE BROOKE PONCHO CROCHET PATTERN
I was sent a couple skeins of Felici Worsted yarn in preparation for it’s launch on the WeCrochet website! I struggled a bit with this one. This yarn is bright, and the color changes are abrupt. I’m usually drawn to more moody, neutral colors, so I wasn’t really sure what I was going to make. I originally had a triangle scarf in mind when I ordered this yarn, but when I started playing with it I wasn’t loving how the striping was happening.
Then I had an idea to trying remaking the Brooke Poncho crochet pattern that I had first released almost 3 years ago. This pattern was the perfect fit for Felici! The color changes worked well with the design, and the soft yarn is perfect against the skin.
THE YARN
Felici Worsted is available at WeCrochet and comes in 11 colors. I used Lost Lake for the Brooke Poncho crochet pattern. Felici Worsted is a #4 medium weight yarn in a 75% Superwash Merino wool, 25% Nylon blend. You get 218 yards in each 100 g skein.
This is how WeCrochet describes this yarn: Our limited edition, super soft, machine washable, self-striping yarn, now in a worsted weight! Superwash Merino at 19.5 microns (layman’s translation: super-duper soft) will appease even the most sensitive of skin, while nylon lends strength and durability. Add machine washability and you have the perfect yarn for any next-to-skin, everyday accessories, scarves, cowls, hats, or baby clothes. With the heavier weight, your projects will knit up quicker than ever, leaving more opportunity to play with stripes of every color.
Oh! I should also mention that this yarn is also available in Felici Fingering weight #1 yarn. The fingering weight offers 24 different colors and I am really eyeing the Rustic Cabin color! I may need to get some of that one soon.
Looking for another pattern that uses Felici Worsted? I would check out the Felici Crochet Socks pattern from Briana K!

YARN SUBSTITUTIONS
Chroma Worsted (70% Superwash Wool, 30% Nylon) or Touch of Yak (90% acrylic and 10% yak) would make great substitutions if looking for another wool option. Chroma offers really long, beautiful color changes and Touch of Yak has a soothing palette and is incredibly soft.
However, if you are looking for a synthetic fibre, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend checking out Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic) which was what I originally designed this pattern in, or even Brava Worsted (also 100% acrylic).
Any of these options, or similar, would be great when making the Brooke Ponchette crochet pattern.
