New house, new season, new CAL hop, new free dishtowel crochet pattern! Spring Cleaning has taken on a new meaning with the purchase of a new -to-us house. I shared some photos of my old home over the past 18 months, both here and on social media. Although we loved our mid-mod home, and all the updates we did, we sold it last month and moved back to our hometown of Sudbury, Ontario.

Just this past Monday we closed on our new house. Another split-level fixer upper with a gorgeous yard and heaps of potential! Stay tuned for the new blog I am starting to share our home renonation progress (name TBD). Until then, the deep clean has started. Scrubbing walls, floors, cabinets, and everything in between. This means I am going through a TON of dish cloths, dish towels, and cleaning products. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to use some of the incredibly soft and drapey Dishcloth Cotton that my friends over at Mary Maxim sent me.
THE YARN
I was was really excited to be sent some Mary Maxim Dishcloth Cotton! This yarn is FANTASTIC! It’s a DK weight, 3 yarn made from a cotton polymide blend. Polymide, also known as nylon fabric, is made of plastic which helps enhance durability. It’s machine wash, tumble dry low. Although soft, this cotton is a workhorse. As the name suggests, Dishcloth Cotton suits dishcloths and dishtowels, but I would also use it for market bags, baskets, and face scrubbies.
December 2019 Update: I tell ya, I have been using this Dishtowel since I designed it back in March (published in April), and it looks exactly like it did the day I made it! This yarn really does stand up to the constant wear and tear of life in a kitchen.
Ready for the Easiest, Peasiest, Dish Towel crochet pattern you have ever hooked? Hmmm…. makes a cute table runner too, don’t ya think?
