The Ragged Falls Cocoon Shrug Pattern is finally available in Ladies Sizes! I released the Child Sizes last month and the response was incredible! Once again, this Shrug combines the fun and easy stitch pattern of the Ragged Falls Poncho and Ragged Falls Scarf patterns, along with the simplicty of cocoon shrug construction. Layered over long sleeves in colder temps, or to keep shoulders warm when worn over a tank, the Ragged Falls Cocoon Shrug is most definately a wardrobe staple!

This pattern was first brought to you as part of the Countdown to Valentine’s Day Event hosted by Nicki’s Homemade Crafts.
THE YARN
Since I used Whims Merino (a DK weight 50/50 blend of fine superwash merino + nylon) for the Child Sizes of this Cocoon Shrug, I knew I would use another DK weight yarn for the Ladies Sizes. I decided to head to Michaels and see what they had in stock. Although I loved the merino/nylon blend of Whims Merino, I wanted something a little lighter for the larger sizes. I have used Loops and Threads Joy DK yarn for other designs (the Alex Pullover and Cabridge Cardigan) so I knew exactly what kind of drape I could get! Each ball of 100% acrylic yarn comes in a 100g (3.5oz), 273 yds (250 m) size.
Available in 14 different solids, and 7 different multis, there is a colour for every project!
You can purchase the ad-free pdf in my Ravelry, Etsy, or LoveCrafts Shops by clicking the buttons below!

I just found this beautiful cocoon pattern, ordered yarn and can hardly wait to make it. But………I also would love to make that lively mug cozy that is in the pics here with you and the cocoon. I’m hoping either it’s your design or you can direct me to it. Thank you for sharing the cocoon and thanks in advance for the info on the mug cozy info.???

I am so happy to hear that you love the Cocoon Shrug! I hope you share photos when you are done. 😀
Unfortunately, I am sorry to tell you that it isn’t a mug cozy, that is the design of the mug itself! Isn’t it cute? I know you can find similar ones online.

We all make handmade Christmas gifts every year…yes, even the guys! When I saw the Lansdowne basket pattern I knew that would be my gift to all the women. Finished all eight baskets by Jan.31 of this year, 2020 for Christmas 2020!!! Did have a hard time figuring out the torque stitch but after a lot of “frog” stitching it became clear and was quite fun! I, also made 4 to use in my craft area complete with crocheted handle openings. For the gifts I omitted the handle openings and used leather handles and sewed on little leather tags that said things like, “Just Breathe”. Was so thrilled with how they turned out that I made 4 more cutting the pattern down so that they fit perfectly inside each of the larger baskets…kind of a 2 for 1 gift!!!! Thank you SO much for the great free pattern. It was such a unique idea!

I love your patterns but what to do first? This one, the poncho or the Daphne Cocoon. Love them all. Its a dilemma.
