The Beach Day Pullover crochet pattern almost didn’t happen. I purchased the yarn for this in February. Then “March happened” and everything went out the window. I had picked at it here and there, but completely lost my motivation. I had mentioned on a chat with my friends Briana and Lorene that I was going to frog it, and their response said it all. This was one I needed to finish.
So here we are, a few months later and I couldn’t be happier that I stuck with it! This design totally reminds me of a day at the beach. You know when you finish swimming and you have that slight chill? Or when the sun starts to set and your tank just isn’t enough? What about on those clear, starry nights that are calling for a bonfire? This pullover checks every box.
Using worsted weight yarn and the humble single crochet stitch, this design actually works up incredibly fast!

SPLASH INTO SUMMER EVENT
The Beach Day Pullover crochet pattern was first brought to you as part of the Splash Into Summer Event hosted by Nicki’s Homemade Crafts. Each day a different designer will bring you a pattern that you can download for free for 24 hours only!
THE YARN
For this design I used Loops and Threads Crème Cotton in Navy, Mustard, and Cream. I only needed less than one ball of each color for the size Medium! This medium worsted yarn is a cotton/nylon blend and comes in 432 yard balls. Not bad! I also used this yarn for the Julie Basket crochet pattern.
Although I do love this yarn with this design, it has since been discontinued.
As a substitute I would highly recommend Comfy Worsted. If cotton isn’t your thing, Brava Worsted is a squishy soft (and very economical!) acrylic substitute. If you’re thinking ahead to Fall, Wool of the Andes Superwash might be the choice for you! All these options are from WeCrochet, and they offer free shipping to Canada on orders over $75! Free shipping is also available to United States, United Kingdom, and Australia on qualifying orders.

SPECIAL PATTERN NOTES
This Beach Day Pullover was designed with 6” of positive ease. For a more fitted top, make a size down.
When following the stitch counts at the end of each round, the numbers are in chronological order by size, (XS, S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). When only one stitch count is given, it is the same for all sizes.
This garment is worked in two pieces and then joined at the shoulders and sides. The sleeves and collar are crocheted right on the body of the Pullover.

SEAMING
To seam the Beach Day Pullover crochet pattern, you will sew the shoulder seams and the sides as follows:
Lay the Front and Back Panels on top of each other, Right Sides facing together, (matching up the stripes if applicable).
Using a tapestry needle and a length of yarn, sew the two Panels together starting with the shoulders.
Each side seam should begin approximately 3” above the bottom hem, and continue up, leaving a (6”, 6.5”, 7”, 7.5”, 8”, 8.5”, 9”, 9.5”, 10”) Armhole opening. I switched colours to make each stripe. This added to the ends to weave in, but it made the execution look flawless.
Fasten off and weave in all ends. Turn Pullover right side out.
